I think what people don't understand is that when these drivers are doing deliveries, they keep a time card for just the deliveries and they are paid the Federal Min. wage during that time. Then when they are back at the restaurant, they are paid their full wage (whatever that is). They are paid LESS to do deliveries, because of the tips! They rely on those tips. That being said, the driver should NEVER ask for a tip ahead of time. The best way to ensure your tip, is to do a great service, and be super friendly. Then, if they don't tip still, just remember that!
